With great sadness
Post in The Garve & District Development Company by Tina HartleyThe Garve & District Development Company are sad to announce the passing of Alan Illingworth a founder Director of the Company, a gentle soul who will be greatly missed.
Fond Memories

Alan was well known for his trademark hat, he lived with his wife, Carolyn, at Lochluichart. An accomplished musician, in the past he played with award winning 8 piece band KJB on a number of musical instruments - Harmonica, Trombone, Guitar and Keyboard. As a loon he started out work in Dundee for publisher DC Thomson and for a time worked in the oil industry, was a coastguard and was also French interpreter. He loved to paint and was always happy to show his artwork to those who visited his home.
A founder Director of The Garve & District Development Company he will be greatly missed by his fellow Directors, staff and his local community. Our thoughts go out to Carolyn, his family and friends.
Rest in peace Alan.

I have spent many a happy hour painting with Alan. We also had good times as members of the Men's Shed. Alan was a quiet man, but extremey thoughtful and methodical in everything he undertook. He was extrememly talented but so modest with it. He was always willing to share his knowledge if asked. I will miss him. He was such a character.
Rest in peace mate.
